Who is ChainWeavers?
US? Yes, I do suppose that you'd want to know exactly 'who' is ChainWeavers. Well, let me start off with a little love story...
Rick and I met back in the 80's when we both worked on the North Slope of Alaska in the Prudhoe Bay oilfields – he as an electrical maintenance engineer and I, as a police officer. Turns out, we were both born and raised in the South and we spent many hours over coffee talking about being homesick for a little sunshine and warmth – it can get pretty cold near the Arctic Ocean and just talking about being warm can do wonders for your well-being.
Fast forward to 1990 – we married in the town I grew up in... in the same church and with the same minister as my parents, back many, many years ago (let's not think about how long that's been, shall we?) We transferred back to Alaska in 1992, and then moved to Idaho in 1996 where we built our dream home and then opened our frame shop in 1999. We've run Rockeby's Custom Framing as one of the Top 100 Frame Shops in America for several years, with customer service being our highest priority. Just so you know, we've carried that same level of service over to ChainWeavers.
I started mailling at Christmas in 2005, when I got several kits from a major vendor as Christmas gifts from my wonderful mate. I completed them all within the space of a couple of days and there was no redemption for me after that... I was completely, thoroughly HOOKED and maille has been a big part of my life ever since – even when I should be doing other things. It's true... my name is Kathleen... and I'm an addict. But there is no 12-step program for recovery, and Boy! am I glad. This is one addiction from which I don't wish to recover....
So I bought rings from all the same places you have – some with great rings, but lousy service; some with decent service, but not-so-great rings.. and then a couple with crappy rings AND service! But I started doing business with ChainWeavers and very soon after (January 2009), the owner decided to do something else with her life – go to jewelry school. And we signed on to coil, cut, package and ship her rings for the 3 months she'd be in school, never dreaming at the time that ChainWeavers would soon be ours. After she finished school, she decided she didn't want to go back to doing the 'ring thing'... sooooo... realizing that we loved the business, we made her an offer she couldn't refuse, and ChainWeavers was ours. Oh my goodness... what had we done?
Having 3 months into the running of ChainWeavers, we knew there was great potential, but, first things first, we needed a brand-new website! That's not a small commitment in time and effort, but a necessary one for the type of business we wanted to run, so we dove in after closing the deal in June, and by mid-September, the new ChainWeavers website was up and running and BEAUTIFUL!!! And all the credit goes to Rick... our 'Ring Master' and computer guru. What can I say? I married a genius!
So that's who we are - just folks like you who work hard every day and love what we do and are looking forward to the day when ChainWeavers is ALL we do... it's coming soon!
So from us, to you... Happy Weaving!
'Ring Master' Rick
'Mistress of the Rings' Kathleen
